Lower part of Nisqually Glacier as seen from station 5. Approximate locations of the surveyed cross profiles are shown. The entire glacier is receding.The area down-glacier (lower end of the white ice) is stagnant, as indicated by hummocky,debris-covered, non- crevassed ice. Note the long moraine-like ridge of debris-covered ice immediately to left of the white ice. The nunatak is bare. Note the debris load on the right half of the glacier downstream
